Horokiwi Paving pride themselves on supporting the local community and are actively involved with a number of local initiatives.
New Dowse Project
Rotary support the New Dowse Project and value the work Horokiwi donate. Horokiwi are proud of this project and were happy to receive this endorsement from the Fund Raising Committee. Peter Green of Horokiwi Paving has laid the bricks, engraved with the names of Lower Hutt businesses and residents, in front of Lower Hutt’s Dowse Art Museum free of charge since 2007.
The proceeds from the sale of these bricks are shared between The Dowse Foundation and The Rotary Club of Hutt Valley. The Rotary Club uses these funds for local and international projects. The recipients of local projects are mainly Lower Hutt’s low decile schools and Hutt Valley senior school pupils who the Club enrols in personal development, educational development and leadership programs run by Rotary.
This could be considered a tedious project for Peter as the brick laying is usually in small quantities and at irregular intervals. However, Peter and his staff provide a courteous and enthusiastic approach to our requests and follows our sometimes unusual laying requirements professionally and without question.
We are grateful for Peter’s commitment to this worthwhile community project and would recommend anyone in the wider Wellington region to use his services.

Te Omanga Hospice – Garden of Appreciation
The Garden of Appreciation is an actual paved garden. It is a peaceful and special place where families can visit to commemorate a loved one. Bricks are engraved with a loved one’s name and the Horokiwi team then lay in one of the gardens many paved pathways. The bricks are lasting tributes to the individual or family. Horokiwi are also proud to support Te Omanga.
